“One never stands so tall as when kneeling to help a child”

Welcome to the official website of the Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix, the oldest philanthropic organization in the valley dedicated to serving underprivileged children. Our organization is made up of professional young men throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area who are leaders in their perspective industry. Our goals are simple - improve the quality of life of the children in our local community through fundraising and community events, develop personal leadership skills, and empower youth to achieve their full potential.

Our Foundation

The Children In Need Foundation (CINF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization created and maintained by current and past members of the Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix. All proceeds from the Club's fundraising activities are directed to CINF, with 30% of the funds going into an endowment fund for future distribution, and the remainder going into a general fund for disbursement to our beneficiaries within the fiscal year.

History

The Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix has a distinguished and honored history as one of Arizona’s most prestigious and active fund raising men’s clubs. Since the club’s inception in 1932, the men of Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix have raised millions of dollars and dedicated thousands of hours to local children’s charities. Phoenix #99, along with the entire international organization in North and South America, continues to dedicate its fundraising to one of the fastest growing and weakest groups in our fast-paced society: underprivileged children.

Club Membership

Club Membership

The Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix prides itself on the upstanding members of our organization. We are entrepreneurs and thought leaders in the community with a strong desire and drive to help underprivileged children in the Valley. Membership is on a yearly cycle. Although we consistently achieve our cap membership count year over year, we welcome incredible men to continue to reach out to us to discuss opportunities.

Who can join the club?

Membership is open to community-oriented men in their 20's and 30's. Phoenix 20-30 will host community activities with our sister chapter whos membership is female based in the Phoenix area - the Valley of the Sun Active 20-30 Club. For more information about our sister club, please visit their website at www.vos2030.org.

How does one become a member?

Prospective members are usually introduced to the club by current/past members, but unsponsored membership inquiries are also welcomed. Candidates are invited to attend one or more meetings after which they may submit a formal membership application. Successful candidates are then invited to a membership interview (typically 20-30 minutes) with the membership committee. If the committee approves the application, the candidate is admitted to the club as an "Active Associate", and after 4 months the membership committee votes whether or not to make the associate a full member.

How many members are there?

Membership fluctuates every year. The club has a nominal cap of 50 members. Once the cap is reached, new candidates are placed on a waiting list for admission to the club when a membership spot opens up.

How often does the club meet, and what is the format of the club meetings?

The club meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. We generally establish our calendar at least 2-3 months in advance, but meeting locations and dates can change at short notice. A typical meeting includes appetizers or dinner, and business is conducted prior to and during dinner, with meetings running for an average of 75-90 minutes.

What are the time commitments?

We expect all members to attend at least 75% of all meetings. In addition, members are expected to attend all major events, and members appointed to committees are expected to participate in all related committee meetings.

What committees exist within the Phoenix 20-30 club?

The Executive Committee, comprised of elected officers and the immediate past president, handles the day-to-day running of the club. The club also has an elected membership committee, who review new applications and set/maintain the standards for continued membership. Each major event usually has one or more chairpersons, and new members are expected to serve on at least one committee during their first year of membership.

Does the Phoenix 20-30 club support other 20-30 clubs?

We have a strong relationship with the other 20-30 clubs in the Phoenix area, the Scottsdale 20-30 club, and the Valley of the Sun 20-30 women's club. Members of each club generally support one another's events, and we occasionally have social or competitive outings to inject some fun into the mix. Of course, only the Phoenix 20-30 club can claim to be the "original" 20-30 club in the area, founded by Senator Barry Goldwater back in 1932...

Fundraisers

Phoenix Suitcase Party
The Phoenix Suitcase Party has quickly become our signature event. The premise is simple: buy a ticket, pack a suitcase, show up for the party, enter your ticket into the raffle, and the winner leaves the party for an exclusive weekend break in a private jet! The party takes place at Scottsdale Airpark in one of the exclusive hangers, with the doors wide open and the backdrop of the McDowell Mountains, guests enjoy gambling, all you can eat, drinks, and live music for the night. For more information, visit www.phoenixsuitcaseparty.com.

Community Events

In addition to traditional fundraising events, the Phoenix 20-30 Club regularly organizes and takes part in community outreach events and projects.

Childspree/Back-to-School Shopping
As part of a long-running national Active 20-30 program, the Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix partners with deserving local organizations in the late summer for a back-to-school shopping event. Club members take underprivileged kids on an early-morning back-to-school shopping trip, outfitting the kids with new clothes, shoes and supplies for the school year.

Holiday Bowling Party
Each year, shortly after Thanksgiving, the Phoenix 20-30 Club hosts a Holiday Bowling Party where our members take a group of local valley kids out for a fun evening of bowling and games, and present them with holidays gifts purchased by our club members. Topping off the night's fun, Santa Claus pays an early visit and delivers surprise gifts for the bowling participants.

Additional community events throughout the year
The members of the Active 20-30 Club of Phoenix also support our event partners & sponsors, staffing their community outreach events and joining in on their service projects.
